WARDENFOX™
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains what information the wardenfox.com website collects when you visit it, why, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. Our games and the platforms you get them from (for example Steam or Game Jolt) have their own terms and privacy policies.
What we collect
1. Server and security logs (every visit)
Like most websites, our server records each request it receives. For every request we log:
- your IP address (passed on to us by Cloudflare, see below)
- the date and time, the page or file requested and the response we sent
- the headers your browser sends, such as browser and device type (user agent), language and the page you came from (referrer)
- technical details such as timing and response size
We use these logs to keep the site working and secure: to rate-limit floods of requests, to block known attack addresses and automated attacks, and to investigate abuse. Requests are checked by an automated security system that decides whether to allow or block them. It does not identify you or make decisions about you as a person; it only decides whether a single web request looks like an attack.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the website and our visitors.
2. Analytics (only if you click “Accept”)
If you accept cookies in the banner, we load PostHog analytics (hosted in the EU). It records which pages you view and what you click, along with your browser, device and approximate location worked out from your IP address. It sets cookies and browser storage starting with ph_ to recognise repeat visits. We use this to see which parts of the site people use.
If you decline or ignore the banner, PostHog is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set.
Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings; the analytics cookies are then deleted.
3. Your cookie choice
We store your Accept/Decline choice in your browser’s local storage (wf_cookie_consent) so we don’t ask again on every page. It never leaves your browser.
We do not have accounts, contact forms, newsletters or payments on this website, so we do not collect your name, email address or payment details here.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare delivers the website and protects it from attacks. All traffic passes through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under its own safeguards. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- PostHog (EU) receives analytics data, and only if you accepted. PostHog privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: the page loads its font from Google, so your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google when the page loads. Google privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider runs the server the website and its logs are stored on.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. We may share log records with the police or other authorities if we are legally required to, or if they are needed to report an attack on the website.
Links to other sites (Discord, X, TikTok, Bluesky, Game Jolt, YouTube, Hugging Face and others) take you to services with their own privacy policies. Nothing is sent to them until you click a link.
How long we keep it
- Server and security logs: kept only for as long as we need them to protect the site and investigate attacks, then deleted. Records of addresses that attacked the site may be kept longer so they can stay blocked.
- Analytics: kept by PostHog according to our account’s retention settings.
- Your cookie choice: stays in your browser until you clear it.
Children
Our games include horror themes. This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data about children beyond the standard logs described above.
Changes
If we change how the website handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
